Between the pandemic, the economic collapse, the racial injustice, the Presidential campaign, the wildfires, the hurricanes, and the countless Zoom calls, this year can’t end soon enough. Still, the threat of the murder hornets turned out to be overblown, so there’s that.
MCDC had a successful year, in spite of the many challenges. We gave grants to seven co-ops in development and two community-based organizations: the Mutual Aid Workspace and Worker Justice Wisconsin. Two co-ops, Get It Right and nINA Collective, incorporated during the year, and two more are very close to doing so. Staffer Charity Schmidt presented at many virtual conferences, including NCBA/CLUSA’s IMPACT Conference. Her Co-ops 101 presentation is now on our website, as is our childcare webinar. Check them out during your downtime!
We look forward to getting back into the swing of things with you next year, and to building a better future together. Whatever your holiday season looks like, we hope it’s happy and peaceful, and that you get to share time with loved ones… even if that means more Zoom calls.
In the spirit of cooperation,
The Executive Board and staff of MCDC
