She is best known for her book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.psupress.org\/books\/titles\/978-0-271-06216-7.html\">Collective Courage: A History of African American Cooperative Economic Thought and Practice<\/a>.\u201d Madison Worker Cooperatives, better known as <a href=\"https:\/\/madworc.org\/\">MadWorC<\/a>, will be reading it as the inaugural book in its new book club. You can also hear Dr. Gordon-Nembhard speak in this recording from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qy3RBNyIECE&amp;feature=youtu.be\">virtual conference<\/a> given in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While not specific to African Americans, the recent US Federation of Worker Co-ops National Conference did heavily feature people of color and immigrants among its organizers and presenters. The USFWC is the national organization of worker co-ops, and this was the first time its conference has taken place online. All the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conference.coop\/recordings\/\">keynotes and breakout sessions<\/a> are publicly available, including pre-recorded messages from Rashida Tlaib and Bernie Sanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today is October first, the beginning of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coopmonth.coop\/\">Co-op Month<\/a>!
